    There is not a sea dish that represents more the identity of Atlanticenses (People born in the State of Atlantico) that a fried fish, of course you should always accompanied it with coconut rice and patacones. To enjoy this and other traditional dishes of the region, we recommend you to visit Puerto Velero and Sabanilla, there they will offer you a great variety of seafood.
  • Sancocho de Guandú

    The sancocho or sopa de Guandú with salted meat is one of the typical dishes of the department of Atlántico. It is a soup prepared with cassava, yam, ripe banana and vegetables. It is accompanied with a portion of white or coconut rice and it is considered the dish of the Carnival of Barranquilla because its maximum harvest point is in the month of February, in full carnival season.
  • Sancocho de Gallina

    The Sancocho de Gallina is one of the most recognized dishes in our region. It is traditionally prepared with peasant chickens (chickens bred by hand in the field, at home and not in large production centers. for some experts, The feeding and raising of the chickens defines the flavor of its meat and the taste of a good Colombian stew.
  • Butifarra Soledeña

    It is a sausage made with beef, pork, bacon, hot pepper and salt. It was brought by the Spanish at the time of the conquest and the soledeños (people born in the municipality of Soledad, Atlantico) have added the exclusive essence of the region, you have to accompany it with a cassava bun to w reaffirm its particular and exciting flavor.
  • Las Arepas de Huevo de Luruaco

    Luruaco is a welcoming region, with a radiant Caribbean sun, characterized by its delicious Arepa de Huevo. This food, which is made with corn flour and chicken eggs, has a golden and bright color that provokes the palate.
  • Chicharrones de Baranoa

    Baranoa is very popular for its appetizing Chicharrones (pork rind), made with pork skin and its meat. They are small and exquisitely crispy, and can be accompanied with the delicious cassava that grows in the region.
  • Arroz de Lisa

    It is the typical dish of Barranquilla. It is a meal based on Lisa, a sea fish that is found in the mouths of rivers. It is served in a bijao leaf, accompanied with cassava bun, avocado salad and panela.
  • Sancocho de Mondongo

    The Sancocho de Mondongo is traditional soup of the Caribbean cuisine, prepared basically with beef belly. The secret to a good sancocho de Mondongo, is to wash it during its preparation with abundant lemon or sour oranges juice. It is accompanied with white rice, banana, or patacones.
  • Cocadas y Alegrías

    The Cocada is a typical Colombian Caribbean sweet made from coconut and sugar dough, delicious to eat as a dessert to sweeten any time of the day, these homemade delicacies is an art that has been handed down from generation to generation, and its name is because most of them are made with coconut.
  • Almojabanas

    Another delicacy of our traditional cuisine made from cornmeal and cheese. They are soft and fluffy donut-shaped rolls, made in Campeche a municipality located at 32 Kilometers from Barranquilla.
  • Bollo con Queso

    Europeans, Natives and Africans contribute to the creation of many of our dishes, this bun accompanied by our traditional cheese make an inseparable duo.
  • Raspao
