This modern building is the most representative Catholic temple in Barranquilla, it is compose from several elements that are considered very attractive. The work was made by the artista Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt. The monument is a 16 tons homage to the Cristo Libertador, large mosaics of San José, Maria Reina and a gigantic stained glass windows that represent the creation and sacraments of the Catholic Church. Right in front of the Cathedral is located the Plaza de la Paz where you can find large green areas.
